Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Backend Study Lab handles information when you read articles, use browser-based developer tools, contact the site, or subscribe to updates. It is written for the current MVP and should be reviewed before adding new third-party services, payments, user accounts, or production newsletter providers.
Local developer tools
The developer tools on this site are designed to run locally in your browser. JSON, SQL, tokens, text snippets, CSV data, and similar inputs are processed on your device by the page script and are not intentionally sent to our server for tool execution.
You should still avoid pasting secrets, production credentials, private customer data, or other sensitive information into any website unless your own security policy allows it.
Information you provide
If newsletter signup is enabled, we may collect the email address you submit and basic metadata such as the source form and signup time. The current project can store signups through Cloudflare D1, Cloudflare KV, or a future newsletter provider when those services are configured.
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to send, including your email address and message content.
Hosting and security data
The site is intended to run on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare and similar infrastructure providers may process request data such as IP address, user agent, URL, timestamp, and security signals to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and maintain reliability.
Analytics, ads, and cookies
Google Analytics and Google AdSense are configuration-gated. When their IDs are empty in the site configuration, their scripts are not loaded by this site. If analytics, ads, affiliate scripts, or embedded third-party services are enabled later, they may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies.
Before enabling those services, update this page, confirm your consent approach, and review the security headers and Content Security Policy notes in the deployment documentation.
Affiliate links
Some future pages may include affiliate links. If affiliate links are enabled, the site may earn a commission when visitors purchase through those links. Relevant pages should disclose affiliate relationships clearly.
How information is used
Information may be used to send requested updates, respond to messages, operate the site, prevent spam or abuse, understand aggregate site performance, and improve articles or tools.
Data retention
Newsletter and contact information should be kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was provided, unless a longer period is required for security, legal, or operational reasons.
